We picked the Aspira resort on a friend’s recommendation. Just one day/night stop on the way to Bacalar. The breakfast was great and inexpensive. We want to say thanks to Sergio (front desk) and Mitchell (Bellboy) for all their help.
That is such a fantastic resort. Our room was quite spacious and had an extra-large bed. The staff was quite friendly and helpful with their cozumel best snorkeling from shore suggestions, especially Sergio at the front desk. Close to restaurants as well along with a short walk to the beach.
This hotel is excellent if you would like to remain near Quinta Avenida. It is located just a few steps from everything. So far as the hotel itself, it is beautiful. Don’t expect this place to be luxurious. The thing that it has going for it’s the location. Highly recommend this location if you’d like to be close to the middle of everything.
This resort is one block away from 5th avenue (the most important and touristic route on playa del carmen). The resort is ok, it does not have an elevator, so consider it if you are bringing a heavy bag.
For us, it was unusual since we stayed there five days while we were performing tours to Chichen Itza, Coba, Tulum, and Xcaret.
The rooms are beautiful, most of it’s very clean, one day we saw one sheet and one pillow that was not clean enough. We did not complain because those were in the bedroom we did not use.
Something that happens virtually every day is that the personal cleaning keeps carrying the towels (even if we chased them) and they forgot to replace them, so I needed to go to the lobby to ask for more. Overall, I believe this is the best hotel if you’re planning to perform all times trips. It is also quite close to Mega and Walmart, and there are lots of restaurants very near the resort.
